BMW X6
The upcoming 2008 BMW X6 SAC is expected to hit US stores in the second quarter of 2008. It’s now official - German company have announced that the vehicle will come with the choice of two engines: a twin-turbo, direct-injected V8 and a less powerful twin-turbo V-6.

A 4.4-liter V8 beast under the hood will carry a xDrive50i badge. It will have impressive 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque and a full-wheel-drive transmission. It will take mere 5.3 seconds to reach 60 mph. A 3.0 inline six-cylinder engine, capable of producing “only” 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque will power weaker X6 xDrive35i. Dynamic Performance Control feature will be standard on both trims. DPC is capable to dynamically distribute torque between the front and rear axles depending on whether you are driving on a dry or a wet surface.
First hybrid powered BMW will be a series 5, "active hybrid" model, with twinpower petrol V6 engine, electroengine and 8 gear automatic transmission. It is capable of delivering total of 340bhp, resulting in 5,9s to reach 60mph.
Average consumption is 36,75-33,6mpg , but it can run on electrical power, if speed is no greater than 40mph.
New X6 is announced for mid next year. Exterior changes are subtle, limited to a slightly different front lights, which are more series 1 alike, with LED lights. Other than for front lights, more chrome details will be added to its body.
Bigger change is a new engine - 3l diesel engine with three turbochargers and over 400bhp. Such huge power will put that version close to existing M models.
A new brand is titled simply BMW i. Luckilly, name is the only dull thing about it - everything else is sparkling with new ideas and concepts. Two models are presented - city car i3 and sports car i8.
